STOTT PILATES® Level 1
Course Certification Process
Step 1: Pre-requisites
All pre-requisites must be fulfilled prior to course enrollment.
- Minimum 30 hours+ of consistent and continuous pilates experience
- Attend Anatomy & Exercise Fundamentals (AEF) - 30 hours or have a working knowledge of Functional Anatomy
Step 2: Certification Path
STOTT PILATES® Level 1 Course
Intensive Mat-Plus™
(IMP 2ND Edition)
40 hours in 6 days
Intensive Reformer
(IR 2ND Edition)
50 hours in 8 days
Intensive Cadillac, Chair &
Barrels (ICCB)
50 hours in 10 days
While not mandatory, STOTT Pilates recommends prior completion of IR or IMP to maximize the learning experience in the ICCB course.
Level 1 Exam Pre-requisites
Students have the option to examine after each STOTT PILATES course or up to six months after they have completed all STOTT PILATES courses. All exams are cumulative and exam fees apply for each.

Complete your course (full attendance)
Upon successfully completing your course, you will receive a letter of completion.
Register for Practical & Theory Exam
Register within 6 months. Book our instructor Self-Practice Access (Reformer) in our studio to practice, observe & clock your log sheet hours.
Attempt & Pass the Exams
Get recognized as a Certified STOTT PILATES® Instructor globally.

- Complete breakdown, including goals, muscular emphasis, movement sequencing - of Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES exercises

- Power workout
- Static Postural Analysis and assessment to aid in program creation
- Incorporating light equipment including Flex-Band®, Fitness Circle® Resistance Ring and Arc Barrel/Stability Barrel™ to support and intensify exercises
- Exercise layering related to effective program design
- Workout composition for personal and group training
- Effective communication, observational skills, verbal cues and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
